Casual Days

It’s been a while since I did a daily outfit roundup, so I thought I’d show you a few pieces that I’m currently wearing in heavy rotation.  We’ve had weeks of cold and rainy weather, though it’s nice and sunny at the moment.  In the late fall and winter, I live in jeans, a blouse or interesting tee, a statement necklace, and a cardigan for warmth.  I get hot easily, so I prefer light layers that I can add or take away as needed throughout the day, and I would much rather wear a cardigan and be slightly chilly than wear a coat and roast.

Since we hosted Thanksgiving at our house, I wanted to wear something pretty but casual.  I paired my trusty jeans with a white polka-dot button-down, added a chunky bracelet and flats, and I was set.  This blouse is sheer, and though I’m not a fan of tank tops, I wore a black one underneath to add a bit of interest and color.  I was cool and pulled together as I finished my meal preparations.

This outfit is a variation of the first, and I wore another cotton button-down with jeans, flats, and chunky bracelets.  I have two of these shirts and really love them, but I can’t decide if they actually need tanks underneath, since they are semi-sheer.  Because of that, I don’t wear them often, but a cool, rainy day is fine weather for layering, so it worked out well.

This outfit is definitely my normal uniform, and I paired jeans with a colorful top, my new fair trade necklace by MADE at Anthropologie, my trusty black cardigan, and fun flats.  As the weather warms up, I just take off the cardigan and still feel put-together.

And this is literally the same song, second verse.  I’ve had this purple version of the striped top for a while, but rarely wear it.  This fall, I seemed to favor it more, and in place of flats, I wore my favorite booties, which are perfect for rainy days.

This post just goes to show how much I rely on simple separates to mix and match with my everyday uniform.
