BeerFeast Fashion

(Ryan’s BeerFeast card.)

Full disclosure: This is a second-hand post.  Ryan attended Austin’s Flying Saucer BeerFeast 2012 recently, and took lots of great pictures, so I am giving him total credit.

On that rainy Saturday, James was visiting my parents, and Rhys and I were snuggling up at home.  But Ryan was braving the storms for a chance at some great local beers and a little people watching, and I got to check out his shots after the party.  Of course, I was more interested in what the girls (and a few guys) were wearing than what he actually drank, and I had fun creating a collage or two based on the BeerFeast fashion trends.

It took me several hours over a period of days to make a semi-decent collage with my minimal skills, and I felt a little like the guy who helps Bill Cunningham with his weekly newspaper columns.  Except that I am much less experienced.  And a girl.  But you get what I mean.

It’s always fun to people watch at Austin events, and you get a good mix of high fashion, street fashion, and everything in between.  Here’s what really stood out to me.

(The Token Hipster. There’s one in every crowd and he is so unimpressed.)

(Men’s Fashion: the kilt, the hat, the lederhosen.)

(Nothing says, “Austin,” like boots and dresses.)

(Rubber boots for every style.)

(And more boots.)

(And more boots, to help with the puddles, and the people in them.)

(Even the Fashion Police were there, taking pictures of all the girls. You know, for official records.)

BeerFeast may not be my cup of tea, but I sure had fun with the photos!
