The big highlight this week was my amazing blogger/creative get-together, and it was incredibly fun! The boys also enjoyed an Easter party and egg hunt at school, and they’re gearing up for two more hunts this weekend. Here are a few things that caught my eye this week.
Japan’s cherry trees are blooming early, and they are beautiful. I would love to see them one day.
Decorating with unicorns: a little girl’s dream come true.
And a model talks openly about real beauty.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Yesterday, I shared some highlights from my get-together Monday night, including the delicious French desserts we enjoyed. They were made by my favorite local bakery, La Pâtisserie by Oven Fresh Delights. Doris, the owner and baker, is incredibly talented, and graciously agreed to provide her treats for my party on the same day she is closed for baking. Thanks to her, my guests and I were spoiled, and the boys are still enjoying her lovely macarons.
I spend quite a bit of time at La Pâtisserie, and it’s become my favorite place to meet friends for coffee or brunch. Last Sunday, my family stopped by for breakfast, and Doris allowed me to take some pictures of her wonderful shop.
La Pâtisserie by Oven Fresh Delights features a wide variety of French breakfast items, sandwiches, and desserts, and I’m slowly making my way through the entire menu. If you’re in the Austin area, it’s truly worth a trip to try Doris’ creations, and I can highly recommend them!
If there’s just one thing I came away with after Alt Summit, it was the desire to extend my online blogging relationships offline and into real life. After following Sandra’s inspiring real-life salons, I knew I wanted to organize something similar, though on a smaller scale and with my own unique spin. So, after several months of meeting and planning, my very first event for bloggers and creatives was held this Monday night, and I think it was a great success!
I invited local bloggers and women with creative spirits, and six of us enjoyed delicious food, great conversation, and a gorgeous craft led by my lovely friend, Jen, who is a consummate crafter and budding jeweler. It was fun, relaxing, and a great way to stretch our creativity while meeting new friends. Here are some pictures from the evening.

This meetup (which needs a more original name) has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and I’m so thrilled with the results. I’m hoping it will continue and grow to become a regular event!
