I first read about Everlane on Leah’s blog, and I really like their approach. The clothing company is online only and works directly with their factories, ensuring that workers are treated fairly and also cutting middlemen costs. The clothing is basic and classic, and you get to see exactly who is making it and where. The prices are really affordable and they add new items seasonally.
I recently bought two of their U-Neck tees as I’m updating my spring and summer wardrobe. I’m not typically a plain t-shirt person, but I like the boxy shape and the slightly longer back hem, and these pieces layer very well, too. Everlane also features some lovely sweaters and accessories as well as men’s clothing.
I’m hoping to add more Everlane pieces to my closet as I need to stock up on basics.
**A little side note: I’m going to slow down a bit and try posting three times a week for a while, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I’m trying to read more and catch up on some things at home, so this will give me more time in the evenings, but I’ll be sure to tell you all about it!
Ah, this week brought much warmer weather, and the days flew by, too. Ryan and I got to see The Monuments Men and it was really good! This weekend, we’re hosting a play date and relaxing. Quiet weekends are my favorite, and hopefully I can catch up on some reading, too. Here are a few things that caught my eye this week.
Pretty floral decor, just in time for spring.
The Queen and Helen Mirren at Buckingham Palace.
Student photos from the Sony World Photography Awards.
Pictures from the fighting in Kiev, here and here.
The experiences of two brothers, both Eagle Scouts, and both gay.
A 2014 retelling of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House.
Loneliness as a disease.
And a fascinating project that records modern musicians using equipment from the 1930s.
Have a wonderful weekend!
For Christmas, I treated myself to a subscription to W Magazine. My mom used to read it, and I always enjoyed looking at all of the editorial fashion. The magazine itself is larger than most, so the photographs are enormous and beautiful, practically worthy of framing. But the large size makes it hard to read in bed, I’m finding, so I haven’t devoured my copies yet. I need to set aside some magazine-reading quality time and dive into these, since they are teasing me from my nightstand every night.
Not a bad problem to have, but if I’m not careful, I’ll soon have a stack six months high. I know I’ll get lots of inspiration from W’s pages, and I’m sure I’ll have enough pictures to decorate my office wall very soon.
Do you subscribe to any magazines, or read them online?
