This week started off quite hot, and then the weather changed dramatically yesterday, bringing much needed rain and cooler weather.\u00a0 It was a quiet week at home, but our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Boston, and also with our neighbors up the road in West.<\/p>\n

Here are a few things that caught my eye this week.<\/p>\n

Portraits of the artists<\/a>, re-envisioned.<\/p>\n

Oscar-worthy prom dresses<\/a>. A girl should be so lucky!<\/p>\n

Properly preserving your wedding dress<\/a>.\u00a0 Mine is preserved, but I’ve never taken it out of the box.\u00a0 Maybe I should.<\/p>\n

A new documentary by Sebastian Junger<\/a> (I’ve had a crush on him since I started reading Vanity Fair<\/em> Magazine<\/em> in high school), that chronicles the life of his friend and collaborator, war photographer Tim Hetherington, who was killed during Libya’s civil war.\u00a0 (Warning: some of the photographs, including the first one, are graphic.)<\/p>\n

We’ve got some get-togethers planned with friends and family, and I really need to catch up on this season’s “Mad Men,” too.\u00a0 Have a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n
