{"id":3421,"date":"2013-03-12T00:00:53","date_gmt":"2013-03-12T05:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/?p=3421"},"modified":"2013-03-11T21:15:30","modified_gmt":"2013-03-12T02:15:30","slug":"la-grange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/?p=3421","title":{"rendered":"La Grange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week is Spring Break, and to start it off, we spent the weekend in <a href=\"http:\/\/kerrville.org\/\">Kerrville<\/a>, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.\u00a0 Now, I have fond memories of attending church camp there as a teenager, and the scenery is truly beautiful.\u00a0 But (heaven help me for saying this about a city in Texas) that is about it, y&#8217;all.\u00a0 The nicest thing about Kerrville is that it boasts three Dairy Queens, all on the same main road.\u00a0 One was next to our hotel, so that should tell you something.\u00a0 The city is known for its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kerrville-music.com\/\">Folk Festival<\/a>, and I hope to attend someday.\u00a0 If I do, I&#8217;ll stay up the road in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fbgtx.org\/\">Fredericksburg<\/a>, which is much more charming.<\/p>\n<p>But the weekend before, our family took a day trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lagrangetx.org\/\">La Grange<\/a> and had a wonderful time!\u00a0 So instead of reliving the Kerrville experience, I&#8217;ll share pictures from La Grange, instead, which is located between Austin and Houston.\u00a0 We visited on a Sunday morning, so most of the major tourist attractions were closed, but we will definitely go back again this spring.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3420\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/?attachment_id=3420\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3420\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3420\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3420 \" title=\"Walking with Cake: La Grange Dairy Queen\" alt=\"Walking with Cake: La Grange Dairy Queen\" src=\"http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/La-Grange-Dairy-Queen.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/La-Grange-Dairy-Queen.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.walkingwithcake.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/La-Grange-Dairy-Queen-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3420\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(We started the trip off right, with lunch at the Dairy Queen. &#8220;BOGO&#8221;
